Another Military "Armada" Advances Toward Iran, Trump Says

(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump revealed Tuesday that an additional military "armada" of American naval vessels is advancing toward Iran, while expressing optimism that Tehran will pursue diplomatic negotiations.

"There's another beautiful armada floating beautifully toward Iran right now, so we'll see," Trump declared during a rally in the midwestern U.S. state of Iowa.

"I hope they make a deal," Trump added, "They should have made a deal the first time they'd have a country."

Just one day prior, U.S. Central Command announced the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group had been mobilized to the Middle East as tensions with Iran intensify across the region.

The USS George H.W. Bush departed Virginia last week bound for Europe, fueling widespread speculation that the supercarrier could receive orders for Mediterranean deployment and potentially transit through the Suez Canal should confrontations between Washington and Tehran escalate further, Forbes reported.

Pentagon officials simultaneously directed U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles previously stationed at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in Britain to relocate to American air bases in Jordan, Forbes added, signaling a significant military repositioning.

On Monday, U.S. Air Forces Central issued a statement announcing that "Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central) will be conducting a multi-day readiness exercise to demonstrate the ability to deploy, disperse, and sustain combat airpower across the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility."

The military drills will enable U.S. forces to "validate procedures for rapid movement of personnel and aircraft; dispersed operations at contingency locations; logistics sustainment with a minimal footprint; and integrated, multi-national command and control over a large area of operations," the statement confirmed.

Cameron Chell, a prominent military drone expert, warned Fox News on Sunday that Iran's drone swarm capabilities would represent a credible and substantial threat to U.S. naval assets, including the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group currently en route.

No official indication has emerged from the White House regarding any finalized decision on Iran policy moving forward.

Trump has consistently stated he is evaluating multiple options, including potential strikes against Iran, while simultaneously noting that Tehran "wants to talk," suggesting Washington may pursue diplomatic channels with Tehran, media reported.
