Iranian MP Warns US Soldiers will Face ‘Hell’ if Nuclear Talks Fail
The remarks come as US President Donald Trump increases threats of military action unless Iran agrees to a deal limiting its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Indirect negotiations, mediated by Oman, resumed earlier this month, with a third round scheduled in Geneva on Thursday, where Tehran is expected to present a draft proposal. Trump previously set a 15-day deadline for an agreement and warned that Iran would face a “very bad day” if no deal is reached.
“Thursday’s negotiations are a test for Trump and will determine whether American soldiers will go to hell or return to America,” Rezaei wrote on social media.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Tehran is prepared for military confrontation if diplomacy fails, warning that US bases would be targeted in the event of an attack. He rejected calls to halt uranium enrichment, describing Iran’s nuclear program as peaceful and vital for energy security, and labeled its missile program a “red line” that is “strictly non-negotiable.”
According to reports, the Pentagon is reportedly preparing for a prolonged campaign against Iranian security and nuclear sites should negotiations fail.
