Iran Denounces US, Israeli Claims on Nuclear, Missile Programs

(MENAFN) Iran on Wednesday dismissed recent statements from the US and Israel regarding its nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities, calling them “disinformation” and “the repetition of big lies.”

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said on the social media platform X that propaganda techniques similar to those used by Nazi official Joseph Goebbels are being applied systematically by the US administration and Israel. “'Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth,' is a law of propaganda… to serve their sinister disinformation & misinformation campaign against the Nation of Iran,” Baghaei said.

He added, “Whatever they're alleging in regards to Iran's nuclear program, Iran's ballistic missiles, and the number of casualties during January's unrest is simply the repetition of 'big lies.' No one should be fooled by these prominent untruths.”

Baghaei’s comments came a day after US President entity["people","Donald Trump","us president 2026"] warned that, while he favors diplomacy, he will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. “My preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy. But one thing is certain: I will never allow the world's number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon. Can't let that happen,” Trump said during his 2026 State of the Union address.

The remarks arrive ahead of a third round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, mediated by Oman, scheduled to take place Thursday in Geneva, where Tehran is expected to present a draft proposal. The two sides previously met in Oman on February 6 and resumed talks in Geneva on February 17.

Meanwhile, the US has increased its military presence in the Persian Gulf amid threats of potential action should the current negotiations fail.
